I’m Eve, it’s my birthday on 2 September. I have been organising a birthday collection for many years, always with success. This year I am supporting the action of Iwona Maier, who wrote:
Dear friends, I am raising money for a well I want to build for a very poor family in Morocco! The first time I was so terribly sad was when I heard from an elderly man that the only thing he wants is to build a well so he can have water! And if he has water, he will earn everything himself! It costs €3000 to build a well. I believe that together we can do it! Please help me build a well in Morocco so that this man can fulfil his dream.
I believe that together we will make his dream come true, and we will build these wells together!
If everyone throws in €5 or €10, we have it, and we will be able to enjoy the well, and the water! Internet for power!

Jestem Ewa, 2 września mam urodziny. Od wielu lat organizuję zbiórkę urodzinową, zawsze z sukcesem. W tym roku wspieram akcję Iwony Maier, która napisała:
Kochani, zbieram pieniądze na studnię, którą chcę wybudować bardzo biednej rodzinie w Maroko! Pierwszy raz było mi tak okropnie smutno, kiedy usłyszałam od starszego człowieka, że jedyną rzeczą, jakiej pragnie, to zbudować studnię, żeby mieć wodę! A jeśli będzie miał wodę, to sam zapracuje na wszystko! Wybudowanie studni to koszt 3000€. Wierzę w to, że razem damy radę! Proszę pomóc mi zbudować studnię w Maroko, żeby ten człowiek mógł spełnić marzenie.
Wierzę, że razem spełnimy jego marzenie, i zbudujemy wspólnie te studnie!

Facebook is not what it used to be. There are almost no people we really know, but a lot of weird history. I did not want it, but I am able to appreciate, when there is one text I can really enjoy.
So:
They used to use urine to tan animal skins, so families used to all pee in a pot & then once a day it was taken & sold to the tannery. If you had to do this to survive you were “piss poor.”
But worse than that were the really poor folk who couldn’t even afford to buy a pot; they “didn’t have a pot to piss in” & were the lowest of the low.

Wonderful developments have occurred in 2023 regarding our project aiming to digitally reunite the famous library of Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin. We have uncovered documents and press reports from the 1940s proving that the library of the Lublin Yeshiva – once the largest religious Jewish library in Poland holding around thirty thousand volumes – was not burned during the Second World War, as claimed by many sources, but rather scattered around the world.
