heute war der 150. tag der proteste und der forderungen für neuwahlen gegen die neue erst ende mai gegruendete bulgarische regierung aus sozialisten und türkenpartei. es wurde jeden tag gegen korruption und skrupellose machtausübung demonstriert sowohl tagsüber als auch abends. seit einigen wochen fordern nun auch studenten nach neuwahlen und haben die universität von sofia besetzt. vor genau 24 jahren als die ‘wende’ kam, hat man auf eine gute zukunft gehofft, leider aber regiert die mafia seither das land.

As I prepared that post it was still friendly in Sophia. Only two days later it was already not peacefull anymore. On November 12, the 152nd consecutive day of anti-government demonstrations in Bulgaria, protesters surrounded the National Assembly, blocking MPs inside. The police cordoned off one of Sofia’s main boulevards, Tzar Osvoboditel, trying to provide free passage for MP vehicles. The following video captures police violence against protesters, who managed to break through the security lines.
