Woman for Peace

Leen VW

Dear all, it’s been 5 years since we organized and walked Civil Marsh For Aleppo. Now I would like to ask for your support – to sign a peace declaration in order to get (more) women around peace negotiation tables: https://www.womenpeacetable.com/en

Please spread the word

The strength of women brings the world a chance for peace.

Do you endorse this peace declaration?

We want a world without violence and war, where men and women have equal opportunities at all levels and where everyone is treated fairly. We oppose the false logic that only armed violence can solve international conflicts.

We are convinced that dialogue is the first condition to prevent conflict and violence. Through dialogue, we want to bring about changes that eliminate the deeper causes of conflict, such as inequality and discrimination, poverty and injustice and the sale of arms and violence.

Dialogue

Sustainability

A better world is also a sustainable world, in which we use life’s scarce resources carefully and respect the environment.

We explicitly opt for ecological sustainability and are against any form of waste of what nature offers us. This is why we continue to oppose an economy that endangers the sustainability of our planet, and therefore also the rights of our children and grandchildren.

This care also applies, first and foremost, to our fellow human beings, especially to those in need: care work and voluntary work must be given more support and be valued more highly. This care is not limited to those around us, but has a universal perspective.

Care

Equality

The contribution of women is indispensable. This is why we continue to work for the equal and full participation of women in political, social and economic decision-making, and we want to make our voice heard in countries where this is not yet the case. We remain committed to the implementation of the provisions of the Convention on Women’s Rights, the Beijing Platform for Action and UN Resolution 1325.

We express our respect for the courageous and far-sighted women and men who have humanity despite the atrocities of war, who have dedicated themselves to peace and to their fellow human beings and who have taken bold initiatives of resistance to violence and inhumanity.

We pledge to join forces and mobilise for world peace and sustainable development (economic, social, political).

Respect

Peace

Peace is a matter of political choice and the values and norms that are upheld in society. We opt for non-violence, for the empowerment of women and women’s organisations and for the valorisation of the so-called “soft feminine values” in our society.

The strength of women brings the world a chance for peace.
